DDoS attacking on whole internet, many sites are still down.

HALF INTERNET IS DOWN  TODAY

In simple language someone tryied to hack by DDOS attacking which affect whole internet

Internet users around the world, but mostly in the United States, reported that top websites are not loading on Friday morning.

The affected sites include Amazon, Twitter, Etsy, Github, Spotify, and others.

The situation is developing, but it appears to have something to do with DNS hosts.

Domain Name Servers (DNS) are a core part of the internet’s backbone.

They translate what you type into your browser – www.indiztech.net , for example – into IP addresses that computers can understand.

And as it happens, DYN, a major DNS host, is suffering a DDoS attack.

DDoS attacks basically mean that hackers are overwhelming their servers with useless data and repeated load requests, which means that useful data – the Twitter IP address – can’t get through.

Many sites and services use DynDNS as their upstream DNS provider, including Github, Twitter, SaneBox, Reddit, AirBnB, and Heroku.

All of these are reportedly experiencing outages and downtime, either partially or totally.

According to Hacker News and reports, these sites have been affected:

– DYN

– Twitter

– Etsy

– Github

– Soundcloud

– Spotify

– Heroku

– Pagerduty

– Shopify

It’s not immediately obvious who is behind this DDoS attack. However, the fact that the attackers were able to disrupt the DNS provider used by some of the most popular websites tells a lot about their abilities.

At the moment, Dyn DNS is still dealing with the attack and its cause remains unknown. Stay tuned for further updates.

Redbus.in might have suffered a database breach last month compromising 4,116,187 user email IDs

Redbus.in, a popular India based ticketing service might have had their database compromised by hackers on 15 September 2016 leading to user information being dumped on to the darknet. The breach seems to be massive as the data dump supposedly has 4,116,187 user email IDs.

The company seemed to be unaware of the incident till users on Twitter asked for verification. Redbus.in, initially, denied the leak in a hasty tweet which was soon deleted.

It has since Tweeted that the matter has been escalated on a priority basis to their concerned team.

Those who wish to check out if their email IDs have been compromised can head over to hacked-emails.com and input their email IDs.

Do note that at this stage very little is known if the user data contains plaintext email IDs or if user data is indeed hashed.

We will update the story as we obtain more data.

Also, haveibeenpwned, another such website which allows users to check if their IDs have been compromised is yet to report on this hack.

All that is known at this point is that 13.72 GB of data has been dumped onto the darknet comprising of 673,491,695 lines of text amounting to 4,116,187 user email IDs.

The data dump was first spotted on 15th September 2016 and the actual hack seems to have occurred on 9th September 2016.

We noticed the hack on Reddit today and will be reporting more on the same as the news develops.

The Redbus.in data breach is the latest among multiple such hacks this year.

Pakistani Hackers Claim to have Hacked 7,000 Indian Websites

A group of Pakistani hackers claimed that they have managed to hack over 7,000 Indian websites and also released a list of the company names early on Tuesday. According to the reports from Times of India, the websites have been hacked by a group named Pakistan Haxors Crew.

Each of the hacked websites had a logo of Pakistan Haxors Crew and a song “Ae watan tera ishara aagaya, ar sipahi ko pukar aagaya…” which means (Oh nation, we’ve received your signal, ever soldier has got his call(ing)..” and begins to play with a scroll that reads “Tum ne socha tha, hum ne kar dikhaya” that means (You Thought, we’ve done it).

This hackers group haven’t targeted any government websites yet. However, the same hacker group has hacked websites of AIADMK, Taj Mahal and Tata Motors. On this point, Experts have something different to say!

Experts said that these are amateur hackers who lack the expertise for writing their own codes. Mirza Faizan Asad who is the legal head of Global Cyber Security Response team said Times of India “I’ve seen their post. They are not even proper hackers. They are what we call script kiddies, people who use existing computer scripts to hack into computers as they lack the expertise to write their own”

Communication and Information technology ministry informed that 1490 government websites have been hacked between the period of 2010 and 2015. The data for this year is not yet compiled.

The hackers said in the post replete with expletives “We are Unbeatable. You… kill innocent people in Kashmir and call your self defenders of your country. You…violate the ceasefire on border and call it ‘Surgical Strikes’. Now kiss the burn of Cyber War”

Changing Time and Date setting to Jan 1, 1970 will brick your iPhone

A simple bug in iPhone founded by Zach Straley on YouTube shows that if you set the time and date to January 1, 1970 will brick your iPhone.

The iOS device will fail to boot, stuck at display of Apple logo.

This glitch got lot of attention on reddit with people experimenting on their iPhone devices to see if it worked. This glitch works on any iOS device that uses a 64-bit processor and is running iOS 8 or newer, including iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches. To avoid this, simply let your iPhone automatically set the time.

For people who tried this for fun and got their iPhone bricked had to visit to their local Apple store and replace their iPhone under warranty.

Other way to fix this problem is to wait until the battery die and then plug the charger in iPhone and reset. You can see blue screen for about 3 seconds after few minutes. This worked for few people and didn’t work for others.

If you wish to keep your smartphone battery in excellent condition and stop worrying about battery life, there a few things that you need to change.

#Don’t keep it plugged in when it’s fully charged

According to Battery University, leaving your smartphone overcharged is bad for the battery in the long run. Once your smartphone is fully charged and is at 100%, it receives ‘trickle charges’ to keep it at 100% while plugged in. It keeps the battery in a high-stress, high-tension state, which reduces the chemistry within.

Explaining a lot of scientific details as to why does it happen, Battery University also summarizes it nicely: “When fully charged, remove the battery” from its charging device. “This is like relaxing the muscles after strenuous exercise.”

Keep it cool

Smartphone batteries are so sensitive to heat that Apple itself suggests you to remove iPhone from cases when you charge it. “If you notice that your device gets hot when you charge it, take it out of its case first.” Also, ensure that your smartphone is covered when you are out in the hot sun. It will safeguard your battery’s health.

#Try not to charge it to 100 percent

Don’t charge the battery all the way to 100%, when you don’t have to.

According to Battery University, “Li-ion does not need to be fully charged, nor is it desirable to do so. In fact, it is better not to fully charge, because a high voltage stresses the battery” and wears it away in the long run.

If you are trying to keep your smartphone charged all day, this may seem counterintuitive. However, you should be fine, if you plug in your smartphone whenever you can during the day.

#Plug in your smartphone whenever you can

Don’t wait till your smartphone battery runs down out of charge. Charging them occasionally throughout the day can help the battery’s performance instead when they are empty.

According to Battery University, charging your smartphone when it loses 10 percent of its charge would be the best-case scenario. While this may not be practical for many people, so just plug in your smartphone whenever you can. It is ok to plug and unplug it multiple times a day.

This not only keeps your smartphone’s battery performing optimally for longer, but also keeps it topped up the entire day. Further, constant top-ups also allows you to use features, like location-based features that use your smartphone’s GPS antenna that would you normally not use, as it can eat up your battery life.
